Activities

i) I.G.A-Income generating activity-We have initiated two activities that provides livelihood to our unemployed members which is a detergent business.

ii) TRAINING-We do training for the youths on good business management, life skills (to instill positive attitudes in the youths), also in peer education and counseling skills.

iii) PEACEBUILDING, RECONCILIATION AND CONFLICT MANAGEMENT ACTIVITIES

  • Under this initiative, we’ve organized forum that seeks to bring our community together such as tenants vs. landlord forums, inter ethnic dialogue and youth to youth focused group discussions. In which people share their post-election violence experience and also release their bad feelings towards what they underwent during that time hence, providing a psychological healing.
  • We also conduct psycho-social counseling for those who were traumatized by post-election violence.
  • Moreover, we source for resources for those who are internally displaced, living within our community who are numbered at 116 persons; these include foodstuff, clothing, beddings and finances for payment of rent and school fees for their children.

iv) ORPHANED AND VULNERABLE CHILDREN SUPPORT-Our program has registered over 98 children who are orphaned and vulnerable. We do make request on their behalf for support from well wishers on their needs in terms of food, medication, clothing and school fees. Usually what we get we distribute equally and fairly among the children as soon as we receive it.

v) OUTREACHES -We usually conduct outreaches in schools, churches and in social halls in order to empower the community with information on the current issues affecting their lives such as peace, Hiv/aids, drugs and development.
